SUMMARY
Romeo and Juliet meets The Godfather in the second installment of Catherine Doyle's Blood for Blood series.

Sophie's life has been turned upside-down, and she's determined to set things right. But Nic, the Falcone brother who represents everything she's trying to forget, won't give up on their love - and it's Luca's knife she clutches for comfort. Soon another mafia clan spoils the fragile peace - and with her heart drawn in one direction and her blood in another, Sophie's in deeper than ever.

MY THOUGHTS
One of my favourite novels last year was Catherine Doyle's underrated debut Vendetta. Seriously, why isn't everyone proclaiming their love for the book? It's a YA mafia romance story! Secrets and lies, complex family ties, and some major forbidden romance—I'm completely obsessed with the Blood for Blood series. And oh my gosh, Inferno was even better than I could've hoped!

Picking up directly after Vendetta ended, Sophie is determined to distance herself from the Falcone brothers and their dangerous world. The bruises may be slowly fading, but the emotional scars from that night in the warehouse still remain. Nightmares plague her at night, and if it weren't for the support of her best friend Millie, Sophie would never leave the house during the day.

Despite assurances the Falcones would leave her be, she can't shake the feeling someone is still watching her; it fuels her paranoia and fear. Since saving Luca's life, a fragile peace has settled in Cedar Hill, but the vendetta between their families is far from over. The Falcones are searching harder than ever to locate Sophie's uncle, and now a rival crime family has taken an interest in her.

Sophie is in over her head, but who can she still trust? Once, Sophie believed she could always depend on passionate Nicoli, but he's not the boy she thought he was. The memory of him shooting her uncle is forever burned in her mind. And then there's her growing attraction to Luca, the protective underboss of the Falcone family who's not so aloof anymore...

The more Sophie's life fell apart and new twists revealed themselves, the more I was filled with manic glee. I love crazy drama in these kind of books, to see everything become so tangled that you don't even know what's normal anymore. Sophie simply can't afford to be naive or live in ignorance anymore, not when one wrong move means blood will spill. And Team Luca fans, you're going to fangirl hard for every scene Sophie and Luca are together! They're my OTP, for sure. (Sorry, not sorry, Nic.)

As we're drawn deeper and deeper into the mafia world, the thirst for vengeance threatens everything Sophie holds dear. I was torn between the desire to savour the pages left remaining or race forward to the end. Inferno was just so completely addictive. And the ending! THE ENDING! I was not ready. I NEED the final book in the trilogy. Right. Now. Please.
