Bad Things Always Come In Threes…

As a thief, I'm good at three things: hiding in the shadows, getting in and out unseen, and uncovering secrets. I put these skills to work for the Sinclair Family, one of the magical mobs that run the tourist town of Cloudburst Falls.

Everyone knows Victor Draconi wants to take over all the other Families--and kill every last Sinclair. What they don't know is that I'm on to him, and no way will I let the man who murdered my mom get away with hurting all the other people I care about. Especially when I've got places to break into, stuff to steal, and Devon Sinclair fighting right by my side…

"An adventurous ride you will never want to get off." --#1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout on Cold Burn of Magic

MY THOUGHTS
Ever since Lila made the chilling discovery that Victor Draconi was murdering monsters in Cloudburst Falls, stealing their magic to imbue into rare black blades, she's known time is running out. Stealing the black blades and replacing them with fake versions may be a brilliant plan, but it won't stop the ruthless leader of the Draconi family for very long. Victor intends to take over all the other Families... and eliminate his greatest threat, the Sinclairs.

Lila won't fail the Sinclairs like she failed to save her mother four years ago. Her mother's violent death is still burned into her memory, a constant reminder of Victor's cruelty and her helplessness to take action. Since joining the Sinclair Family as Devon's bodyguard this past summer, Lila has finally learned to drop her walls and open her heart again. The Sinclairs have become more than simply her employersthey're her best friends and family. She would do anything to protect them, even if meant placing herself in danger.

I felt so much anxiety and stress reading Bright Blaze of Magic! Lila would walk into dangerous situations with what seemed like the simplest of plans, so naturally, I just knew everything would soon fall apart. I would glance down at the page count and think, yep, there's no way this will go well. Lila always seems so sure of herself, overconfident really, that it's like she forgets she's just as fallible as everyone else. And as we learned in Dark Heart of Magic, Lila may be a highly skilled fighter, but she can be a little slow to connect all the dots.

Heart racing and suspenseful at every turn, Bright Blaze of Magic brings Jennifer Estep's highly addictive Black Blade trilogy to a close. Each book has been a constant hit of adrenaline, with fast pacing and thrilling action scenes in a volatile world of magic and monsters. (I'll miss you, lochness! You sure showed them who's boss.) Everything comes full circle for Lila, and I couldn't be happier about the way everything was resolved. What an ending! It was perfect, really.
